Lekki Shooting: Brigadier General Accuses LASG of Not Communicating Change of ‘Curfew’ Time

At an ongoing trial at the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry, the Brigadier General Ahmed Ibrahim Taiwo, testifying, said the Lagos State Government of not communicating with the military over change of curfew on the day of the Lekki shooting.

This was made known by Lawyer Inibehe Effiong who is presently at the panel to represent some victims of the Lekki Toll Gate shooting.

Initially, the Nigerian Army denied being at the Lekki toll gate but later admitted in another interview but stated that the army did not shoot any protester but used a rubber bullet to scare off protesters who were gathered at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Inibehe wrote on his Twitter account; “Brigadier General Ahmed Ibrahim Taiwo of the Nigerian Army in his testimony before the Judicial Panel of Inquiry said that the Lagos State Government did not communicate the change in the time of the curfew from 4 to 9 pm to the Army.”

Recall that the #endsars protest has been going for 12 days before the dreadful attack on protesters on the 20th of October, 2020 allegedly by the Nigerian Army and the police.

The protest was generally for the disbanding of the dreadful sect, Special Anti-Robbery Squad who was known for its extra-judicial killing, harassment, extortion of citizens and also to end police brutality in Nigeria.
