Jemilu Sule, the killer of Mrs Esther Amali and her adopted daughter Mercy Iveren Wuese has been caught and arrested by the Benue State Police Command from Obagana, Kogi State on Thursday.
The suspect who is the son of Jubrin Sule from Ankpa Kogi State who schooled at Lafia Polytechnic Nasarawa State stabbed Mercy while she was trying to serve food to Mrs Esther on the 14th of January 2024.
Jemilu who ran out of the State after the incident stabbed Mrs Esther who rushed out of her room when she heard the scream of Mercy whom she found in the pool of her blood and saw him with the dagger.
Mrs. Esther was stabbed two times in her chest region, one in her lower abdomen and one in her palm. He scaled the fence after committing the heinous crime.
Mrs. Esther, however, did not die immediately and so screamed and ran outside while describing the assailant to neighbours and told them his name also.
She also told her son while on their way to the hospital who killed Mercy and stabbed her before she passed on
Her son said my mum described him vividly saying “That igala boy with swollen leg is killing Mercy and her baby.”
It was gathered that Jemilu visited the home of Mrs Amali on the 9th of January stating that Mercy had been insulting him and Mrs Amali apologized and pleaded with him, an appeal which didn’t sit well with him.
Meanwhile, the family of the suspect fled the community but the community gave the Igala people living in the area an ultimatum to provide the boy or face unrest.
Jemilu’s father showed up and was locked up on Saturday at D-division Police Station Ankpa Ward.
