The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed receipt of 23-year-old Adeleye Ayomide, a suspected killer of Idowu Christiana, a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State.
Confirming on X, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Thursday, September 5, disclosed that “23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye has been handed over to #LagosPoliceNG by 9 Brigade #HQNigerianArmy. The handover took place today, September 5, 2024, at about 1400hrs.”
It was gathered that the operatives of the Nigerian Army arrested the suspect Ayomide, after the report that late Christiana was kidnapped by suspected abductors along the Ikorodu-Yaba Road, Lagos State, on Monday, August 19, 2024.
It was earlier disclosed that the abductors had initially demanded a ransom of N3 million before they could release the student.
However, the abductors accepted N350,000, after several pleas. But they refuse to free the kidnapped student.
Meanwhile, reports revealed that the suspect, whose parents have absconded, had also killed his girlfriend in 2018 and his sister in 2020, and buried them in the family compound.
