A protest against poor governance has erupted in Akure, Ondo State, as students and youth call for action on insecurity and the unfulfilled promises of the Ondo State government.
On Thursday, the streets of Akure were filled with frustrated young people who expressed their dissatisfaction with the insecurity and leadership failures of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa administration.

Carrying placards that read “Nigerian students protest against insecurity,” “Hunger is too much,” and “Reverse all anti-people neoliberal policies of privatization, deregulation, devaluation,” they marched around the capital city, demanding a response from the State Government.
In a viral video, police and Nigerian soldiers were seen being turned away when they attempted to prevent the crowd from protesting.
