Knighthood of Nnewi Catholic Diocese Expels James Louis Okoye Over ‘Ifeanyi Ubah’ Protest
The Knighthood of the Nnewi Catholic Diocese has officially expelled one of its members, James Louis Okoye, popularly known as Akachaam, following his actions during the dedication of the Nnewi Catholic Cathedral on January 14, 2026.

According to a formal letter issued by the diocesan knighthood authorities dated 21st of January 2026, Okoye’s expulsion was prompted by his protest against the Church during the cathedral dedication ceremony.
The protest centered on his claim that the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was not given what he described as due recognition for his significant contributions to the cathedral building project.

The letter further cited Okoye’s conduct on the same day, including statements interpreted by the Church as a denouncement of Christianity, as actions inconsistent with the values, principles, and code of conduct expected of members of the Catholic knighthood.
Recall that Okoye in a protest said he was done with the Church following allegations of unfair treatment of late Senator Ubah who allegedly built the church.
