Tinubu Would Defeat Jonathan in 2027, Win Over 32 States – ADC Chieftain Abejide
A member of the House of Representatives representing Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, Leke Abejide, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would overwhelmingly defeat former President Goodluck Jonathan if both men were to contest in the 2027 presidential election.
Abejide, who is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the statement during an appearance on the Mic On podcast with Seun Okin. He claimed that Tinubu would win more than 32 states, possibly losing only in a few Southeastern states like Anambra and Abia.
“My prayer is that they should run like that, different political platforms, and Asiwaju will win 32 states. He may lose maybe Anambra, Abia; he will win Ebonyi. He may win more than 32 states,” Abejide said.
Commenting on the current state of the country under Tinubu’s leadership, Abejide said he recently travelled from Kano to Kaduna and then to Abuja without experiencing any insecurity or road challenges.
“I just came from Kano. I was in Kano on Wednesday, and I slept there. I came to Kaduna by road yesterday morning. No insecurity, the road is very good, then I came by train to Abuja this morning and I can tell you that people are happy,” he added.
Speculation has continued to swirl around former President Jonathan’s political future, with rumours suggesting he may consider a return to the presidential race in 2027.
Jonathan served one term before losing to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
