Police Arrest Notorious Thug ‘Linga’ and Accomplice for Brandishing Weapons on TikTok, Facebook
The Kano State Police Command has arrested two notorious individuals, Mohammed Isma’il, popularly known as “Linga”, and his accomplice Sani Abdulsalam, alias “Guchi”, for allegedly inciting violence and brandishing dangerous weapons on social media.
The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by the command, which tracked the suspects to Dala Quarters, where they had been mobilising local youths and spreading fear through videos posted on platforms such as TikTok and Facebook.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, a sword and two clubs were recovered during the operation. The suspects had been featured in several online videos, openly wielding weapons and making threats that contributed to growing tensions within the community.
SP Kiyawa stated that the actions of the suspects posed a serious threat to public peace and order, adding that further investigations are ongoing.
The Kano State Police Command also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and warned that individuals who engage in acts of violence or attempt to incite unrest, whether physically or via social media, will face the full weight of the law.
