Lawmaker Gagdi Says Tinubu Administration ‘Did Not Make Any Effort’ to Tackle Insecurity
A member of the House of Representatives Yusuf Adamu Gagdi representing Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke federal constituency of Plateau State has stated that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu” did not make any effort” towards addressing the country’s security challenges.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Programme Politics Today, Gagdi said, “I will say the truth irrespective of your understanding of the truth that I am saying. I will not refuse to tell you here that the government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not make any effort towards solving the security problem.”
However, the lawmaker immediately went on to argue that there is a difference between making a promise and making efforts to fulfil that promise, suggesting that the government should be recognised for attempting to address insecurity.
“Promising to fix the security problem and putting effort towards fixing the security problem should both be recognised,” he said, adding that the government’s inability to solve the security crisis completely does not necessarily mean it has reneged on its promise to Nigerians.
Gagdi also questioned the posture of some opposition figures, alleging that while he could not categorically say they were fueling insecurity, some appeared to be exploiting the country’s security challenges for political advantage.
According to him, some critics seem more interested in portraying the government as ineffective than in offering practical solutions to the insecurity confronting the nation.
The lawmaker further stated that every political party, including his own, has “bad eggs,” insisting that there is a political undertone in the way some leaders respond to Nigeria’s security situation.
