Bourdex Hosts AGN National Leadership: Unveils Strategic Vision For Creative Sector In Abia North
The convergence of Nigeria’s booming creative industry and transformative visionary leadership was on full display in Abia State as the National Leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) paid a high-profile courtesy visit to prominent industrialist, tech innovator, and Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Abia North, Chief Dr David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex, MFR, OON (Ugo’Ena Nde Abiriba).

The delegation, which brought together some of the most influential figures in Nollywood history, was led by the National President of the Guild, Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu, alongside the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Emma Oguguo, and the Immediate Past National President, Evang. Emeka Rollas, among other distinguished leaders and members of the Guild.
The historic reception was characterised by deep mutual respect, warmth, laughter, and high-level national discourse. A deeply emotional highlight of the visit occurred when members of the AGN executive committee recounted their long-standing admiration for the Abia North leader.
Several actors and guild leaders shared personal memories of hearing the legendary name “Bourdex” during their school days decades ago, expressing genuine thrill at finally meeting the man behind the iconic brand in person.
Responding to their accolades, Chief Dr David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex described the moment as deeply humbling, reflecting on the enduring value of integrity and public service.
“Their words were deeply humbling and reminded me that a good name, built over decades of hard work, integrity, and service, is one of life’s greatest treasures,” Bourdex remarked following the visit.
Delving into substantive discussions, the meeting centred heavily on leveraging Nigeria’s creative economy for sustainable national growth, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and social cohesion.
Bourdex outlined a comprehensive vision for Abia North and Nigeria at large, emphasising that the creative arts must no longer be viewed merely as entertainment, but as a multi-billion-naira strategic economic asset requiring deliberate legislative protection, infrastructure development, and targeted financial investment.
“Our discussions went far beyond politics. We reflected on the immense potential of Nigeria’s creative industry as a driver of economic growth, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and national unity,” Bourdex stated. “I shared my vision for an Abia North and a Nigeria where creativity is recognised as a strategic economic asset deserving deliberate legislative support and investment.”
The interactive session produced a clear alignment of purpose between the film industry executives and the community leader. Speeches delivered by both sides emphasised the necessity of visionary leadership that actively expands opportunities for young talents, protects intellectual property, and rewards creative enterprise.
Reaffirming his open-door policy for Nigeria’s creative sector, the Labour Party senatorial flagbearer expressed gratitude to the AGN leadership for their visit and confidence.
“I am grateful to the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria for the honour of their visit, their kind words, and their confidence,” Bourdex noted. “Together, we shall continue to build bridges between enterprise, governance, technology, and the creative industry, because when these forces work together, nations prosper. The doors of Bourdex will always remain open to you.”
