Ooni Urges Peaceful, Credible Conduct of Saturday’s Osun Governorship Election

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has called for a peaceful and credible conduct of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

In a viral video, the monarch urged electoral authorities and all stakeholders to ensure that the election is conducted with the highest level of integrity, stressing the need to preserve peace before, during and after the exercise.

Speaking on the forthcoming poll, the Ooni said, “This coming Saturday election, please conduct it with high integrity. Let it be conducted in peace.”

He also condemned political thuggery and violence, calling on youths and political actors to shun actions capable of disrupting the electoral process.

The Ooni stressed that there should be no thuggery in Ile-Ife, Osun State or any part of the State, urging all stakeholders to prioritise the peace and stability of the state and the country.

He further called on the electorate to exercise their civic responsibilities peacefully and respect the outcome of the democratic process.
