The Traffic and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State (TIMAAS), Aba Command, will from Monday, December 2, 2019, arrest landlords, tenants and any other person doing business around locations where drainage ways are clogged with wastes dumped into or around them.
This was made known by the Deputy General Manager, TIMAAS, Aba Command Comdr. Bright Chinedu Ikeokwu (PHF) who said that arrested persons will be handed over to the police and mobile courts for prosecution while confiscated items will only be released after the payment of stipulated fines.
In the same vein, shop owners/operators along Echefu and Clifford axis where the roads have been turned to mechanic workshops should also heed this warning as we will not only impound vehicles found there, we shall also arrest the mechanics and have such shops sealed.
In addition, articulated vehicles should no longer make U-turn at Lekota, Ukaegbu & Umuola Roads. All such vehicles should only make U turn at Opobo junction.
We also wish to use this medium to warn other road users against contravening traffic laws of the state as appropriate punishment will be meted out to offenders.
Anyone who contravenes these warnings does so at his/her own risk as our resolve to rid Aba of the menaces of clogged drainages and traffic indiscipline remains strong.
Those concerned should be guided accordingly.
