Imo State Government has expressed its believe that over a hundred thousand households could get access to portable pipe borne water in the next one year.
This view was expressed by the state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma during a visual meeting held with members of the united state Agency international development where he signed the Ewash Mou with USAID.
He said after over three inspection visits to Otamiri Water Scheme, he was satisfied with the work being done by Imo water board project manager and said he is committed to the project which will make Imo residents have access to clean water.
He promised the support and cooperation of the state government to ensure that the project was realized.
“It is my hope that sooner than later, Imo water board would have, through Public Privatellqlqll111qqql11ΔΊ Partnership, advanced to the stage where clean and hygienic water will be available for all and when Imo water board will be run as a business with commercial viability which will give room for sustainability”.
In his speech, the General manager Imo water board Engr Ugoanyawu noted the commitment of the governor to the Ewash project. He expressed gratitude to all who were committed to the realization of the project.
