The Anambra State Police Command have gunned down two suspects of four-man gang robbery syndicate known for terrorising Onitsha and it’s the environment.
This was made possible after a distress call was made to the station by 10:10 am on the 11th of December 2020 stating that four-man robbery suspect who belonged to a robbery gang led by a notorious robber Ikanda, who is being remanded in prison over a murder case, were operating along Zik’s Avenue by Miss Ellems Onitsha.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that the suspects engaged the police operatives attached to Figge Division Onitsha in a gun battle when they reached the scene of the robbery attack.
It was gathered that two suspects escaped while two other suspects, Drogba and Fela, whose real names are yet to unknown were injured in the fight and rushed to the hospital for medical treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival. Their corpse has been deposited at the mortuary.
However, one locally made double barrel gun, four live cartridges, two expended cartridges, a charm, two wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, two techno mobile phones and other items were recovered from the suspects.
