The Federal High Court has ordered the Federal Government to pay four defendants Bright Chimezie, David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Madubugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe, the sum of N50,000 each for stalling proceedings.
This was made known by the presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyanko on Wednesday during court proceedings stating that the case has lacked justification and has been on hearing since 2015.

Justice Binta accused the federal government of stressing the case of the defendants who were co-accused with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB of treasonable felony.
The prosecution counsel was absent when the case was called while the defence lawyer argued that his clients were finding it difficult to raise funds to attend court proceedings from their bases outside the Federal Capital.
Recall that the defendants were released on bail in 2017 but the case suffer delay to date.
Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned till 17th March, 2022 as Justice Binta Nyanko promised to finalise the hearing on the adjourned date.
