ASEPA Seals Aba Property After Discovery of Over 100 Bags of Human Excreta
The Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) has sealed a property at No. 16 Ibadan Street, Aba, following the discovery of more than 100 bags of human excreta improperly stored within the premises.

The shocking discovery, made on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, also revealed four basins containing human excreta reportedly kept along a corridor within the compound.
According to information released by ASEPA, a sewage tank was further discovered inside one of the downstairs rooms, directly beneath a bed where occupants reportedly sleep daily.
The agency described the situation as a serious environmental and public health concern, warning that improper storage and handling of human waste could create conditions that could trigger disease outbreaks if not urgently addressed.

ASEPA said the premises were sealed pursuant to a court order as part of measures to prevent potential health risks and protect residents and the wider public.
The agency explained that the property would remain sealed pending compliance with the necessary corrective measures, after which it would be unsealed.
