The South East Governors have resolved to be more decisive in the fight against insecurity in the region, individually and collectively, in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria and other stakeholders.
This was the outcome of the meeting of the South East Governors Forum, held at Enugu State Government House, as communicated to newsmen by the chairman of the forum and governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, after the meeting, yesterday.
He said the forum commended the security agencies for their wonderful effort in the fight and encouraged them not to relent.
“We wish to categorically state that the perpetrators of the insecurity and their sponsors in our region are criminals who should not be seen as legitimate agitators and therefore should be dealt with, by the laws of the land.
The forum chairman made it clear that the atrocities being committed by the criminal elements in the zone, like the beheading of human beings, and the burning down of houses of politicians, traditional rulers, and citizens should not be linked to Nnamdi Kanu.
