The 2023 Governorship Candidate and Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Abia State during the 2023 General Election, Dr Ukpai Iro Ukpai has decamped to the Labour Party.
Dr Ukpai alongside his running mate Barr. Chiedozie Josiah, a Chieftain of the Party in the State, Chief David Urum, Candidates of the Party during the last Election, several Leaders and Members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) decamped on Saturday citing the developmental strides of Governor Alex Otti.
According to Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor, the decampees made it clear that the attributes are their motivation for decamping.
While welcoming the decampees to the party, Governor Alex Otti assured them of equal opportunity for all and assured them that his administration will correct the maladministration of the past administration in the State.
Responding, Ukpai described Otti as the people’s servant and commended his purposeful leadership and Infrastructural development stating that he has redefined leadership in the State while noting that Abians are very proud.
