Professor Kingsley Moghalu, the President of the African School of Governance, has urged Africans to stop seeking external validation and focus on their own progress following the inauguration of President Donald Trump on Monday.
“As for Africa, let’s get on with our business and stop looking for external support or validation. As we make our own bed, so shall we lie in it,” he stated.
Speaking on Wednesday on X, he addressed the debate surrounding the numerous Executive Orders signed by President Trump on his first day in office. Moghalu, a former presidential aspirant of the Young Progressive Party, emphasized that the 47th President of the United States was elected by the American people and will serve their interests.

“For better or worse, Donald Trump’s return to the U.S. presidency will compel Americans and the world to reexamine many long-held assumptions. Some of these assumptions are valid and true, while others are misguided and false. But ultimately, Trump was elected, and he has the authority to govern as he sees fit.”
Since President Trump’s inauguration, there have been extensive discussions regarding his Executive Orders, which include revoking birthright citizenship and declaring that American policy will only recognize male and female genders. Additionally, Trump announced the United States’ withdrawal from the World Health Organization, of which it was the largest donor.
He also extended the deadline for TikTok by 75 days from his original order.
