Teachers Recruitment: Abia Govt. Announces Cut-Off Marks, Sets Oral Interview Date

The Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced to all applicants who participated in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) that the cut-off mark has been set at 45%.

A statement signed by Elder Goodluck Ubochi, Chairman of the Recruitment Committee on behalf of the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, indicates that the oral interviews are scheduled to take place from March 31 to April 4, 2025. Candidates are advised to check their dashboards for details regarding their assigned interview batch, date, time, and venue.

According to the announcement, candidates are required to bring the following original documents and photocopies for the interview:

1. Birth certificate or age declaration affidavit
2. Local Government of origin certificate
3. Three passport photographs with a white background
4. Evidence of all academic qualifications, including:
   – First School Leaving Certificate
   – WAEC Certificate
   – NCE Certificate
   – Degree Certificate
   – Postgraduate Diploma
   – Master’s Degree
   – PhD Certificate
5. Certificate of Membership of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN)
6. NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate
7. BVN printout
8. NIMC Card and Certificate
9. Score printout

The statement further instructs candidates to organize their original documents in a single flat file, while the corresponding photocopies should be kept in a traditional paper file (not a plastic file).
