Kalu Hails Tinubu’s Two Years of “Bold Reforms and Visionary Leadership”
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the occasion of his second anniversary in office, describing the period as one marked by bold decisions, strategic reforms, and transformational leadership.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Kalu applauded the President’s courage in undertaking critical reforms, particularly the removal of the long-standing oil subsidy, which he described as a major drain on the nation’s resources.
He said the move, though challenging, reflects Tinubu’s reflects Tinubu’s foresight and commitment to economic sustainability and growth.
“There is no gainsaying that his emergence at a most critical time saved Nigeria’s economy from the brink of collapse,” Kalu said.

The Deputy Speaker highlighted key achievements under the Tinubu administration, including the clearance of over $10 billion in foreign exchange debt, the implementation of the Student Loan Scheme benefitting over 300,000 students, and the significant rise in Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves from $3.99 billion in 2023 to $23.11 billion in 2024.
“These are not just numbers,” Kalu noted, “they reflect deliberate action, focused governance, and a clear vision to move our nation forward.”
He reiterated the commitment of the National Assembly to supporting the administration’s efforts through the passage of people-centered legislation aimed at improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
Kalu also called on citizens to continue supporting the administration, emphasizing that “change is never easy,” but with unity, patience, and resilience, the country can achieve greatness.
“Congratulations once again, Mr. President,” he concluded. “May the coming years be even more fruitful. God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
