NAFDAC Issues Public Alert on Recall of Indomie Vegetable Flavour Noodles
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued Public Alert No. 041/2025, warning the public about the recall of Indomie brand Noodles, Vegetable Flavour, due to the presence of undeclared allergens.

According to the agency, the recall was initiated by Rappel Conso of France, the French food safety authority, after it was discovered that the affected product contains milk and eggs that were not declared on the product label. NAFDAC said this poses a significant health risk to consumers who are allergic or intolerant to these substances.
NAFDAC noted that although the official risk of the recalled product entering Nigeria is low, due to the Federal Government’s ban on the importation of noodles, the agency remains concerned about the possibility of illicit entry, online purchases, or carriage through international travel.
In response, NAFDAC stated that it has initiated vigilance and surveillance activities to prevent the entry and circulation of the implicated Indomie product within the country.
The agency advised distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise heightened caution across the supply chain to avoid the distribution, sale, or consumption of the recalled foreign-brand Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles.
Consumers who may come across the affected product are advised not to consume it and to discard it immediately. NAFDAC also urged the public to report any suspected sale or presence of the recalled product to the nearest NAFDAC office or through its toll-free line at 0800-162-3322.
