Ukwa West Rallies Behind Adinigwe’s Reps Ambition, Declares Support for Otti’s Second-Term Bid
The political atmosphere in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State came alive on Friday, May 9, 2026, as leaders and stakeholders of the Labour Party declared overwhelming support for the aspiration of Engineer Adinigwe Ugochukwu Nwoke to represent Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The gathering, widely described by party faithful as a spontaneous and grassroots-driven endorsement, also reaffirmed unwavering support for the second-term ambition of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, describing his re-election in 2027 as non-negotiable.
Receiving the aspirant during the declaration event, the Chairman of the Labour Party in Ukwa West, Elder Dike Lucky Onyemaechi, described Engr. Adinigwe as “a square peg in a square hole,” stressing that he possesses the competence, capacity, and grassroots connection required to provide effective representation for the people of Ukwa Federal Constituency.
According to Onyemaechi, the constituency is in need of purposeful leadership and quality representation, adding that Adinigwe remains the most suitable candidate for the task ahead.
In his declaration speech, Engr. Adinigwe Ugochukwu Nwoke pledged to champion a people-oriented legislative agenda anchored on good governance, youth empowerment, education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion.
He assured constituents that his ambition was driven by a sincere desire to restore effective representation and create opportunities capable of improving the living standards of the people.
“I am committed to doing things differently. My mandate is anchored on delivering quality representation to the people of Ukwa. I will ensure that our students benefit from scholarship opportunities, market women receive support, employment opportunities are facilitated, and our youths are equipped through skill acquisition programmes,” he stated.
The declaration attracted endorsements from prominent political figures and stakeholders across Ukwa land, all of whom pledged total support for Adinigwe’s aspiration.

The leaders urged stakeholders across the constituency, particularly their Ndoki counterparts, to respect the principles of equity and fairness by supporting the Asa agenda in the 2027 political dispensation.
