Former aviation minister Femi Fani Kayode has stated that the name ‘Yoruba’ means unreliable and shady. He advised that the name should be changed as he cannot associate himself with a name that will bring him down citing that people are what they call themselves.
He further revealed that the name was given to South West by the Fulani and was not in existence as far back as the 18th century.
He revealed also the real name of the Yorubas and the name of the language while advising all oduduwas to take note on the name.
