Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Ighoho has spoken on the attack on one of his buildings in Ibadan on the early morning of Tuesday.
Igboho said the arsonists damaged the gate to gain entrance to the building and that the two occupants of the house were able to flee the scene to avoid being killed.
He, however, noted that properties worth over N50m was damaged in building.
Igboho while responding to journalists said, “when the fire started, they called me and by the time i got there the arsonists had ran away. They are cowards. Why couldn’t they come to where i live? You would have seen evidence because they won’t escape.”
Confirming the incident, the police in Oyo State revealed that the house was burnt by unidentified persons stating that investigation was on to ascertain what caused the fire.
“At about 0620 hrs of today 26/01/2021, report was received at Santo Police Station that some unidentified hoodlums came to Sunday Igboho’s house at SOKA area of Ibadan in a Hummer bus and Micra firing sporadically, and set the house ablaze,” the police said.
“The mini sitting room got burnt in the process while amount of other properties is yet to be estimated
“Immediately the DPO Sanyo got wind of the incident, he contacted Fire service while he also went to the scene for on the spot assessment.
“The fire was eventually put out.
“Investigation has commenced into the incident while the Police is on the trail of the hoodlums,” the police concluded.
When quizzed on claims by Senator Babafemi Ojudu that he (Sunday Igboho) was hired as a political thug, Igboho said, “I don’t know him, he is a liar, I was not trained by Baba Adedibu. Senator Ladoja is my boss and I have never betrayed him”
Senator Ojudu who is a Special Adviser to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on political matters in his article which went viral on Monday claimed that he met with Sunday Igboho in Ibadan and later took him to Tinubu in Akure during the 2009 rerun election in Ekiti where he was engaged to neutralized the operation of the PDP hired thugs .
But Sunday while denying the claims said, “Senator Ojudu should use his children to swear that such things happened. It is a plot to distract me and give me a bad name, i never collect money from politicians to do this, and it is painful that politicians are conniving with fulani to distract us but i will never be distracted.
From my investigation about him, I have found out he made no impact as a Commissioner in Lagos and as a senator in Ekiti. What are his achievement? How many people did he help? How many projects did he facilitate? It was Fayose that achieved many things in Ekiti. Tell Ojodu to caution himself.”
