The Nigerian Labour Congress has suspended its strike in Kaduna State after three days of protest.
This was made known by the Chairman of NLC, Ayuba Wabba who stated that the suspension was to honour the invitation by the Federal Government on Thursday.
It was gathered that the meeting is to mediate between the Kaduna State Government and Labour and will be attended by the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, top officials of the State government, Ayuba Wabba and top officials of NLC.
Directing the two parties, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige disclosed that the meeting will hold at the Ministry’s Secretariat in Abuja.
“I am therefore constrained in the exercise of my powers as the Minister of Labour and Employment, under the Trade Disputes Act, CAP. T8, Laws of Federation of Nigeria (LFN) 2004; to invite you and your top officials to the emergency trade dispute conciliation meeting,” he said.
