The former Minister of Aviation and Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osita Chidoka, has stated that the younger generations of Nigeria deserved peace and love just like the older generation experienced it.
Mr Chidoka disclosed this while sharing a throwback picture of his mother, himself and his sibling and reminisced about Sundays in Enugu during his childhood.
In his caption, the ex-minister said, “Sunday afternoon after church service at St. Barths Cathedral, Asata Enugu. The picture of my mother, Victoria Chidoka and sister Ada Chidoka Egbon.
“After service on Sundays in the 70s and early 80s, our routine was set depending on who drove to church. If my father, we ended up at Presidential Hotel Enugu for lunch. If my Mother, we ended up at my Aunties Mrs Okongwu and Mrs Ani.
“I have fond memories of growing up in the Coal City. As I listened, from my house, to the choir of St. Andrews Church Obosi this morning, a prayer arose within me.
“May our children know peace and love in this time. May they look back on these days with nostalgia and not pain and sorrow.
“We, as leaders and citizens, owe them that. As we received peace and love, we should strive to pass it on collectively. Amen.”
