The ailing daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Sonia has appealed to Nigerians for a kidney donor three years after she was diagnosed with the disease.

The ailing daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Sonia has appealed to Nigerians for a kidney donor three years after she was diagnosed with the disease.
Sonia took to social media to disclose that she was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease, FSGS Nephrotic Syndrome which made her drop out of her post-graduate studies.
She also explained that a thorough medical examination advised her family against donating as it the Nephrotic Syndrome is genetic and might likely return.
While speaking about the incarceration of her parents by the British court, Sonia stated that the truth of the incident will come out soon while warning that anybody who wants to donate will do so out of compassion as there will be no monetary reward.
Recall that the 60-year-old senator and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka, 55, were arrested by the British police on June 23 on allegations of human trafficking and organ harvesting that violates the country’s Modern Slavery Act.
Metropolitan police had accused the lawmaker of conspiring to bring a child to the United Kingdom for organ harvesting, saying the victim is a 15-year-old boy.
But several reports revealed that the boy is 21-year-old.
