The Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi has stated that a new list of the National Working Committee of his party will be updated.

The Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi has stated that a new list of the National Working Committee of his party will be updated.
Speaking on Friday through his social media page, the former Anambra State Governor assured that the omissions and erroneous entries will be attended to.
He also made it clear that the leadership of the Labour Party has addressed the surrounding issues during a press conference in line with its commitment to be accountable and transparent to citizens.
“I’ve received several calls of concern following the release of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council list. Admittedly, there were some omissions and erroneous entries in the list, hence the concerns expressed. In response, the Labour Party Chairman in the presence of members of the NWC addressed the issues during a press conference. In keeping with our commitment to accountability, responsiveness and transparency, an updated list will be issued in due course. I plead for patience.”
Recall that General John Eneche, the army officer who claimed photos and videos from the massacre of unarmed demonstrators at Lekki Tollgate were photoshopped was among the people appointed a member of Peter Obi’s presidential advisory council.
There was outrage over the appointment with Obi’s supporters who insisted that he is unsuitable to take up any position in Mr Obi’s campaign team due to his role in covering up the Lekki massacre in October 2020.
