The twenty-seven members-elect of the 10th Imo State Assembly proceeded on a 5-day retreat to Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State on Thursday.
It was gathered that the retreat was for orientation on legislative proceedings.
The Speaker of the State Assembly, Emeka Nduka disclosed this in a statement.
“To ensure the 10th Imo Assembly takes off on sound footing, incoming & returning lawmakers would embark on a five-day retreat & orientation exercise in Uyo.”
“The retreat would provide lawmakers the opportunity to familiarise themselves with their mandate, educating them on legislative processes, particularly the incoming legislators.”
“The legislative tools that would give them a head-start in legislative responsibility to their constituents would also be provided to them,” he said.
