The Federal High Court has ordered the Nigeria Police to release singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, pending the hearing of his case.

This information was shared by one of his legal advisers, Deji Adeyanju, on social media today. He further stated that Abubakar Marshal, Esq., will serve as surety for Speed Darlington.

“BREAKING: The Federal High Court has directed the Nigerian Police to comply with the order to release Speed Darlington immediately, pending the hearing of the substantive matter. The court also directs Abubakar Marshal, Esq., to act as surety for Akpi. Alternatively, he should be arraigned immediately.”
It’s worth noting that Speed Darlington was arrested in November 2024 following a cyberbullying complaint filed by his colleague Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known as Burna Boy.
Meanwhile, after Burna Boy’s clash with Cubana Chief Priest regarding his alleged entanglement with Puff Diddy—who is currently detained for sexualizing underage girls—the Chief Priest stated that he would ensure Speed Darlington regains his freedom.
