Protesters Denied Entry to Lagos Assembly as End Bad Governance Protest Kicks Off
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force denied access to the Lagos Assembly Complex for protesters on Monday, April 7, 2025.
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force denied access to the Lagos Assembly Complex for protesters on Monday, April 7, 2025.

The police had previously issued a warning, stating that they would not tolerate a protest they described as a “potential unrest or confrontation.”
In a statement released on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police referred to the planned demonstration as an action by “subversive elements” who were acting under the pretence of economic hardship.

The demonstration, organized by the Take-It-Back Movement and several other civil society groups, faced opposition from the Nigeria Police Force.
The police announced the deployment of personnel to strategic locations while urging the protesters to abandon their planned demonstration.
Meanwhile, protests are currently ongoing in Port Harcourt, Delta State and Abuja.
