Suspected Transformer Vandal Electrocuted at University Premises
Tragedy struck at Borno State University on Sunday as the lifeless body of an unidentified man was discovered near an electrical transformer within the institution’s premises.

Authorities believe the individual was electrocuted while attempting to vandalise the installation.
According to a statement released by the Borno State Police Command Spokesperson ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Anipr, preliminary investigations suggest that the man was involved in an illegal attempt to tamper with the transformer when he suffered a fatal electric shock.

The body was evacuated from the scene by officers of the Command in collaboration with the Borno State Fire Service and has been taken to a hospital for further examination and proper medical procedures.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, PSC, condemned the incident and issued a stern warning to individuals engaging in vandalism and sabotage. “These criminal acts not only endanger lives but also compromise public safety,” he said.
CP Abdulmajid reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property and called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, especially around public infrastructure.
While assuring a full-scale investigation, the CP charged the people to contact the police through the following emergency numbers: 0806 807 5581 or 0802 347 3293.
