Sanwo-Olu Unblocks Lawyer Festus Ogun, Who Sued Him for Blocking Him on X

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has unblocked human rights lawyer Festus Ogun on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), following a mediation meeting held at Lagos House, Marina.

Mr. Ogun, a vocal legal practitioner and activist, disclosed the development in a series of posts on Saturday, noting that the governor initiated the meeting to amicably resolve Ogun’s complaint of human rights violations relating to the social media block.

“Mr Governor took time to explain the circumstances surrounding my blocking,” Ogun stated, adding that the resolution demonstrates a rare willingness by public officials to engage citizens constructively. He also expressed gratitude to his legal counsel, Desmond Tobe Oris, who was at the mediation.

“In a country where an average Nigerian governor would have lined up a team of Senior Advocates to defend against my lawsuit, Governor Sanwo-Olu chose the honourable and commendable path of unblocking me,” Ogun wrote.

Despite the resolution, Ogun reaffirmed his commitment to holding authorities accountable. “Aluta continua,” he concluded.
