Eight Political Parties Complete Registration Process – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that eight of the fourteen associations earlier pre-qualified to register as political parties have successfully completed the submission of all required documents.
In a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, the Commission said the update followed its regular meeting held on Thursday, 30th October 2025.
According to INEC, the registration portal was opened from Wednesday, 18th September to Friday, 18th October 2025. By the close of the portal, eight associations had completed their uploads. They are:
1. All Democratic Alliance (ADA)
2. Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA)
3. Abundance Social Party (ASP)
4. African Alliance Party (AAP)
5. Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA)
6. Green Future Party (GFP)
7. National Democratic Party (NDP)
8. People’s Freedom Party (PFP)
The electoral body stated that the next phase of the registration process involves a detailed assessment and verification of the information and documents submitted by the associations to ensure compliance with the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2022, and INEC’s Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties (2022).
