On the fifth day of the Citizen Quest, the Abia State team went to Eluama village in Lokpaukwu under Umunneochi Local Government Area in Abia State.
We saw the immense job of the Niger Development Delta Commission, NDDC, done there.
Speaking with a native, he told us the length of the road which we traced to its end and observed the calibre of the road construction done.
Speaking further, the native disclosed that the road was nothing to write him about while appealing to NDDC to improve in its standard of road construction.
Frankly, it was a rigorous exercise for the team as the long was really long and the sun was at its peak.
The team also went Isieke in Umuahia where we found out that the road was constructed over four years ago. We also went to the Health centre road at the World bank in Umuahia, the road, as seen and disclosed by residents were built at an intermediate level.
While expressing their gratitude, they appealed to NDDC to build a standard road that will overcome rainfall and others.
As I said earlier in the previous post, it’ll be better if NDDC can always checkmate the contractors to avoid a bad name.
