The Abia State Government has directed the security agencies to seize all tricycles and commercial vehicles seen on the road in the lockdown.
This was made known by the Commissioner for Information Abia State, Chief John Okiyi Kalu who stated that the impounding of the vehicles will happen from the beginning of the lockdown till the end.
He directed TIMAAS and FRSC to seize and keep the vehicles in their custody till the end of the lockdown which is a minimum of 7 days.
“Only vehicles transporting food items and those exempted from the lockdown are allowed to be on the road, ” he concluded.
To curb the spread of the coronavirus, the Abia State Government led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu locked down the State and directed that the lockdown of 7 days is subject to a review each week and will be used to fumigate the public places.
