Amidst the criticism that has met the death of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has stated that it is wrong to make a judgement about people you know nothing about.
He said this on his social media pages stating that what one reads about others might just be a biased opinion of them and so people should be well informed before making a judgement about them.
He further stated that using foul language to describe one without a close interaction about them should never be adopted but rather left to ruin.
His post reads, “1. Whilst it is perfectly in order to constructively criticize public officers’ official actions and policies, it is absolutely wrong to make judgments about people’s characters to the extent of using foul language to describe them without having personal interactions with them.
2. Events in the last few days have reminded us that to be ‘well-informed’ about anyone’s character only because of what you READ about that person is to be well-informed about NOTHING. What you read may just be the biased opinions of others who have some personal agenda to set.”
On Friday, the Federal Government announced the death of Mallam Abba Kyari who was infected with the deadly Coronavirus and was being treated. The Aso Rock staff announced that he will be buried on Saturday according to Islamic doctrine.
But the villa came under fire when the people who attended the burial did not practise social distancing as they have greatly advised the citizens.
Many considered late Abba Kyari as a de facto President and called him in their social media accounts arguing that no President’s Chief of Staff has been known except during the present government.
Also, the citizens also insinuated that the government was not being transparent in the manner in which it has handled the outbreak of the virus in the country.
