On Nigeria: The Thief, The Catcher and The Law

The Nigeria we knew is gradually disappearing and most of us are doing nothing about it.

Every arm of there government is leg and face deep in corruption which is killing the Nigeria we love.

Why would people not clamour for Biafra, Oduduwa Republic when the country is desolate?

Judiciary –

The flagrant abuse of law is very eminent in the space. We see the people who should be the custodian of our laws being the architect of the near devil ills happening in our society. The people that has stood despite the corruption going on is Femi Falana, Abdul Mahmoud and a few others.

Gone are the days of Oputa panel when court actions were held in high esteem.

This abuse of power is happening in all the states in Nigeria. Each State has a case that is staring at them. We have numerous cases where the AG or government officials manipulate the court orders and the authorities dutifully obey while disobeying the ‘Nigeria they love’ and swore to protect.

The United States obeys the court orders no matter who is involved.

The most appalling is seeing that most of these people schooled in the UK or US but as the saying goes ‘the school didn’t pass through them’ rather they came back to their country where everything goes.

The Legislative –

For all we know, people clamour to fit themselves into these places. Why?

For the main purpose of benefiting. What about serving the people? Most times, I wonder what their professions were before the public service systems?

Were they pilots, engineers, teachers, doctors, anything which they made a living from?

Every child looks forward to joining politics and nothing else. Everyone is someone’s oga and in the game of politics.

Go to the National Assembly and House of Representatives, the people waiting in line are bigger than the people purposely ‘serving’.

Nobody has anything to do except hold a purse.
And when it gets to the field day, the land turns green and everyone rejoices.

Wow!

The National Assembly promised to donate their two months salary for the fight against COVID-19 but immediately they received it, they changed their tone.

Still going on, billions of money have been allegedly signed and cleared by these houses without appropriate use of this money. Most of the figurehead of these houses are under investigation but who investigates them?

The people they are directly or indirectly sponsoring or the people that know somebody that put them into the job or even helped them get a promotion that they want.

See? We are living life while reading our National Anthem and nodding our head and shouting ‘To serve’.

Making this house less attracting will help in getting this country back on track but seriously Nigeria is hated by us all.

Senator Dino Melaye wrote ‘the people waiting to steal are bigger than the people stealing already’. That explains it all.

The Executive –

Government of the people, by the people and for the people.

How true is this jargon?

Most times I don’t blame the President for the rot in the system and also looking at his age but still, I believe that he shouldn’t go for the position if he thinks he couldn’t do it so I’ll blame him on 80%.

From the beginning to the end of this arm of the government is filled with rot.
The fact is that most people on this arm put so much pressure into realizing their goal and leaving the poor man with nothing. (Watch the video of the Minister Hajia Sadiya Umar to understand)

A minister of farming is giving N20 to do a work in his ministry which he knows will benefit the Nigerian populace but somebody that was created on a very good day will consciously remove 50% of the amount giving while assigning the duty to staff or better still form a committee whose interest is to get something from the National cake.

These same people will call a contractor, assign the duty with N5 that is remaining out of the N20 that was given initially for this job. The contractor or the Engineer is also bent on getting his cut which leaves nothing for this enormous farming that will benefit the citizen and even themselves and yet, they will proceed to National radio to tell you of their audio plans.

Rudeboy sang ‘money wey we no see na audio’

Even the most common person is guilty of this corruption so yes, everyone is involved here and if you say you are not, then you have not been given something to handle.

‘Always question the loyalty of a poor man’.

An article written by an investigative journalist Gabriel Ogunjobi stated that just with N1000, one can confidently smuggle rice from the Benin Republic to Nigeria yet our borders are closed.

Still in doubt? Ask yourself who is in charge of your community and if they have been giving the community what is due to them or working for their sole benefit?

Question your representatives for the Nigeria you knew is gradually drifting away. It is time to readjust and rethink?

Why do they tolerate what happens in Nigeria but cannot try it when they travel outside the country?

If each State Governor start equipping their hospitals with all necessary equipment without the doctors in charge stealing the equipment and taking it to their private hospital, will we not have a developed Nigeria?

If our government schools are more equipped than our private schools with strict guidelines followed for opening private schools and emphasis drawn on education, won’t we have a better environment?

If teachers were paid higher than the three arms of government which they work better than and paid as at when due, won’t we have more experienced teachers who will read more to teach more?

If the benefits of the executive arm of the government are made less attractive especially for the window shoppers, won’t we have able-bodied men and women brainstorming or doing something better to help their lives?

If more sensible people are recruited into our forces, will we have these senseless killing of civilians?

Wilding thoughts on a beautiful Sunday.
