The Transition Committee Chairman of Bende LGA, Dr. Hagler Okorie has assured that the fourth tranche of palliative items given to the most vulnerable groups in the Council Area will be handed down to them as directed by the State Government.
Dr. Okorie who was represented by his deputy, Chief John Mark gave the assurance while speaking to newsmen shortly after receiving 40 bags of Rice, 20 Bales and 400 Noodles donated to Bende LGA as part of the ongoing third Government palliatives to communities in the 17 LGAs held at the office of the wife of the Governor, Government House, Umuahia.
Dr Okorie further said that in order to ensure transparency in the disbursement of the palliative, a steering Committee has been set up headed by his deputy, Hon. John Mark including the Chairman Bende Local government Traditional Rulers Council, Representative of Association of President General Council in Bende,, women leaders, Youth, disable, traditional prime minsters of various communities and their representatives who have given a good account of themselves.
He commended the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for extending the fourth palliatives that have helped in reducing the burden of the less privileged at the local government levels.
While appreciating the Governor for his magnanimity in accommodating every interest group and political divides in the distribution of the palliatives, Okorie described as criminal and a curse for anyone to divert gifts meant for the vulnerable groups.
He extolled the state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for the able way he has been piloting the affairs of the state in areas infrastructural development in all the 17 local government area of the state as well thank God for his quick recovery.
