The Owerri Capital Development Authority has busted some merchants of fake vehicle numbers and forgery at a business centre beside the Imo State Internal Revenue Service complex.
This was made known by the Special Assistant on New Media to GM, OCDA, Madu-Achebo Michael Chidobi who stated that the General Manager, Innocent Ikpamezie busted them when on a routine inspection on a business centre in the State.
Speaking, the GM OCDA said, “while we came to serve the building beside IIRS for their approval, we noticed some people taking to their heels and we caught up with them, took them to their offices for the search”.
Some of the findings that were made were; fake BIR receipts, fake drivers licences, fake plate numbers etc.
The OCDA GM immediately invited the appropriate authorities who came and took the business centre occupants for questioning.
“The OCDA BOSS said, “this Government is not a government of witch-hunting, rather a government that would allow you to prosper, there is dignity in labour, fast-tracks won’t get you anywhere, therefore I urge you to avoid shortcuts especially when it comes to revenues generated for the government”.
However, the GM OCDA apologized to the other complex occupants for the inconveniences and asked them to call upon the appropriate authorities anytime such illegal business comes to their complex.
