Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, along with top government officials, paid a condolence visit to one of Abia’s founding fathers, Ezeogo (Dr) Anagha Ezikpe, following the death of his wife, Mrs Linda Rose Ezikpe.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Ikpeazu expressed his condolences, that of his family and people of Abia State to the Elder statesman and prayed God to grant the departed matriarch eternal rest. The Governor also prayed God to grant the elder statesman and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Governor who also used the opportunity to thank Ezeogo for his “stabilizing influence in the state and valuable pieces of advice offered to guide me and our administration”, assured that he will continue to work to build an Abia that all her founding fathers will be proud of. He recalled that the last time he met the late Mrs Ezikpe was during the 90th birthday celebration of the husband in Abiriba earlier this year.
In his response, Dr Ezikpe thanked the Governor for coming to see him and used the occasion to express appreciation to God for saving the life of the Governor from COVID-19. He described his late wife as a soul mate and partner who has been with him for decades and informed the Governor that her burial has been fixed for the 16th of October, 2020.
