The leadership of the Asa Liberation Movement (ALM) has passed a vote of confidence on Venerable Joshua Onyeike, the General Manager of ASOPADEC for his unrivaled infrastructural developmental strides in Asa within the short period he was appointed into the Interventionist Agency.
In a statement by Charles Samankwe, the Director of Media, the group made this known during the first meeting of the year which was held on Tuesday, 13th of February, 2024 at the One Man Country home of Mr Ucheoma Akanwa aka Bulky, and also commended the administration led by Dr Alex Otti and declared unalloyed support to him.
Recall that Asa Liberation Movement is a pressure group domiciled in Asa, Ukwa West to fight against bad leadership arising from their representatives from the Federal Govt, Abia State Govt, Constituency, and the LGA. It is a movement that assisted in ousting the PDP administration and an enabler to her retirement as an opposition party in the State.
Citing numerous projects Ven. Onyeike started, they commended him for awarding contracts to the youths of Asa which is unprecedented in Ukwa political atmospherics, especially the reconstruction of the abandoned Asa Development Union Civic Center which was awarded to a member of Asa Liberation Movement and Managing Director of Vikchin Consult, Victor Don Best Enyioko.
ALM, therefore, congratulated Don Best on this spectacular feat achieved through his loyalty to the leadership of the Labour Party of Ukwa West and pledged her total and unalloyed support to the administration of Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR while thanking him for appointing a God-fearing and youth friendly personality as the GM ASOPADEC.
While chorusing support of the motion of vote of confidence on the leadership of Ven. Joshua Onyeike, the GM ASOPADEC by the general house, Mr Chukwuemeziem Nwoke appealed to the house for a bi-monthly meeting, an appeal which was deferred to the next unscheduled meeting for deliberation.
Speaking at the meeting, the leadership ably led by Honourable Emeka Adiele made it clear that the House will summon Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and other political office holders who leveraged on their support over their campaign promises.
He said ALM would not tolerate the political grandstanding of the old order no matter whose ox is gored.
Corroborating, Mr. Sylvester Nwuju, and Engr Agu Kenneth agreed that it was necessary to write to the political office holders through any available means to remind them of their promises to the people.
ALM warned that any gaslighting will be vehemently resisted.
