The government wish to inform all Heads of Public Schools and Proprietors of Private Schools in the State that the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education would, on Monday, 16/6/2025, commence the revalidation exercise of public and private schools into Abia State Basic and Secondary Education Management Information System (ASBS-EMIS).

A release signed by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi says ASBS-EMIS is a secured centralized portal for holistic management of education data in the State.

According to the release, the portal will provide unique identification numbers for Learners and Teachers in both public, private and unapproved schools with a comprehensive database, adding that the exercise is not to close down the existing unapproved or illegal schools in the State.

The release states that the exercise will also ensure all Schools in the State attain the minimum standards and operation in line with the educational policies of Free and Compulsory education for Abia Students in Basic and Secondary Education.

It states that the revalidation exercise is completely free of Charge while the Heads of Public and Private Schools are advised not to pay any fee to anyone within and outside the Ministry.

The release further advises Heads of Public and Private Schools to visit the Ministry’s Website, www.mobse.abiastategov.ng, for more information about the ASBS-EMIS and the Revalidation exercise.
