Imo State Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu has extolled the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for its effort to ensuring safety and smooth commuting on Nigerian roads.
The commissioner gave the commendation when the new Sector Commander for Imo State, Roland Onamusi paid him a courtesy/familiarization visit in his office.
He welcomed the new state marshal to the state and assured him of the hospitality of government and people of Imo State.
He noted that the corps over the years has remained diligent in its assigned task and has employed innovative approaches to enlighten road users, enforce road traffic guidelines and put in place signs to help road users commute without safely.
Nwosu commended the agency for its innovation in the areas of signage, road signs and expressed the readiness of the Imo State Ministry of works to partner the FRSC to actualize their mandate.
Earlier, the new Sector Commander, CC Roland Onamusi said he came to familiarize and fraternize with the Commissioner and the ministry, since he was new in the state and need their support.
He highlighted three areas of possible partnership with the ministry to include; the marketing of the signage produced by the Corps which he said meets international standard. And their road signs that are also of international standard.
He also informed the Commissioner that the Corps has young road engineers who are good in road audit and could be engaged; before, during and after road constructions to ensure all necessary signs for various locations of
