Reno Omokri, the former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, has condemned the Federal Government’s threat to declare a state of emergency in Anambra State.
On Wednesday, after the Federal Executive Council meeting, the Attorney General of the federation, Abubakar Malami threatened that every measure will be explored to ensure Anambra elections hold.
Speaking on his Twitter page, Omokri questioned why a state of emergency have bit been declared at Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger State that has been taken over by Boko Haram terrorists.
“Abubakar Malami’s threat to declare a state of emergency in Anambra may very well be the spark that ignites what he can’t put out. How can you leave Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger (where Boko Haram controls 500 communities) and declare emergency in Anambra?”
Ahead of the November 6th gubernatorial election, Anambra State has been engulfed in killings and insecurity with the secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra threatening that there will be no election in Biafra land.
