Following the destruction of Akere Motor Parts Market in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government of Lagos State, Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu has donated N100 million to the affected traders.

In a social media post on Wednesday, Governor Sanwo-Olu who is seeking a second tenure also flagged off the reconstruction of the market reiterating that ‘Lagos takes care of its own.’
“Lagos takes care of its own and today I returned to kick off the redevelopment of the Akere Motor Parts Market in Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA, which was affected by an unfortunate fire incident recently.

I also donated N100 million to the affected traders to ease their pains.
As we move towards the election this Saturday, we must not allow bigotry to be what will divide us.

We must watch our utterances and ensure that we are not divisive. It is about ordinary, everyday people. You own the mandate and it is about you.”
On March 8, Newsleverage reported about the arsonist’s attack on Akere Motor Parts which is dominated by Igbos in the early hours of the day.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident.
