Supreme Court Strikes Out Suit Seeking to Disqualify Tinubu/Shettima
The Supreme Court has dismissed the suit seeking to disqualify President-Elect Bola Ahmed and Vice President-Elect Kashim Shettima over the double nomination of the latter.

The Supreme Court has dismissed the suit seeking to disqualify President-Elect Bola Ahmed and Vice President-Elect Kashim Shettima over the double nomination of the latter.
The suit which was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, claimed that Shettima’s nomination as Tinubu’s running mate was in breach of the provisions of sections 29(1), 33, 35, and 84(1)(2) of the Electoral Act, 2022.
However, the five-member panel of the Supreme Court held that the PDP lacks the locus stand to institute the suit.
It also stated that the PDP we’re not a member of the All Progressive Congress.
