Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has promised the stakeholders of Orlu zone that he will not take the trust, acceptance, and confidence they reposed in him for granted.
The governor made this promise in his address during a grand reception organized for him by the stakeholders of the Orlu zone, at Nkwerre, on Saturday.
He asserted that his coming into power was designed by God to rescue Imo State which was in bondage. “We needed to unlock the door to bring out Imo State, and that was what I went straight to do. It is still a work in progress.
“You have seen what I have been able to do in less than four years, so if you allow me eight years, imagine what I will do. My campaign is based on you seeing what I have been able to do.
He made it clear that charity begins at home, the reason all sons and daughters of Orlu zone had to rally around him, saying, “I am a governor of Imo State, not governor of Orlu, but I am a governor of Imo State who comes from Orlu”.
Speaking about the Imo Charter of Equity, Uzodimma said it is the right time for all those who have been agitating that Orlu has been too much in power to support Orlu to finish the one they are already holding, after which power rotates to Owerri.
He however said it is based on the readiness of Owerri to take the power, saying, “If they are willing, if Owerri is not willing and Okigwe is willing, we move to Okigwe.
“It is in the interest of all of us to be governed, politically speaking, by that charter of equity”.
