A notorious cult leader, Fidelis Adamu, in Angwan Gainyeh, located in the Sakon-Gyel axis of Jos South Local Government Area (LGA), Plateau State, was arrested by troops of 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven on March 20th 2025.
The arrest followed an intelligence report indicating that a cult group known as the Jungle Boys was planning to launch attacks on prominent individuals, including political office holders and community leaders, in response to the ban on illegal mining in the state.
Samson Nantio Zhakom, the Media Information Officer, announced on Monday that the suspect is currently in custody and providing useful confessions. The troops are actively pursuing other members of the cult group.

Additionally, on March 23, 2025, troops conducting Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A responded to reports of criminal activities near the Youth Centre in the Sabon Layi Axis of Mangu LGA, Plateau State. Troops encountered a group of criminals, engaged with them, and successfully overwhelmed them, forcing the miscreants to flee.
In the aftermath, the combat troops conducted a thorough search of the area, resulting in the arrest of one criminal, Nashak Wilson, aged 29. He was found armed with an AK-47 rifle loaded with two rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. Further investigation led to the recovery of 30 cows that had been rustled by the criminal syndicate.
The recovered cows have been returned to their owner, while the arrested suspect, as well as the recovered rifle and ammunition, are in custody for further action.
