Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication has said Peter Obi is an expert in instigating hate speech and vitriol.
Bwala said this on Tuesday following Obi’s comments on the fall of democracy under President Bola Tinubu’s administration at the 60th birthday colloquium of former Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha.
Bwala, who has consistently criticized Obi’s governance principles, stated that Obi lacks the understanding of fighting for democracy like President Tinubu, who actively advocated for democracy alongside others, while Obi was occupied with buying and selling.
“It is funny how failed politicians are trying to redefine democracy. Peter Obi said democracy has collapsed. Does he even know the meaning of democracy?
When people were fighting for democracy, Gregory was buying and selling. He doesn’t have a history of any democratic activism from his school days to date.
His expertise lies in instigating hate speech and vitriol. Talk Is cheap.”

Obi condemned the declaration of a State of Emergency in Rivers State on Monday. He stated that President Tinubu’s action was an abuse of power, further undermining the fundamental principles of democracy that have kept the country down.
“I disagree (with Bishop Kukah) that our democracy is a work in progress. If you look at what we have now, in 1999 they laid a foundation. Some people raised Democracy to the first floor, and some people came and knocked everything down. That’s the situation where we are right now. Everything has been knocked down, and nothing works.
I became a governor through the courts. I didn’t pay the courts 1 Naira, and I was declared the winner. It cannot happen in Nigeria today.”
Obi said that the Executive has usurped the power of the Legislative and the Judiciary stating emphatically that democracy has failed in the country.
